Legal base of Belarus-Qatari relations

The legal base of bilateral relations consists of the intergovernmental agreements on economic, trade and technical cooperation, promotion and mutual protection of investments, avoidance of double taxation, on military and military-technical cooperation, cooperation in the sphere of security, cooperation in the field of science and education, on cultural cooperation, on visa-free trips on diplomatic and special passports, on air traffic, on cooperation in the field of media, cooperation in the legal sphere and the establishment of the Joint Committee.

Belarus and Qatar signed the intergovernmental Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in tourism, in the field of prevention and response to emergencies and disasters.

In addition, the agreements on the establishment of a Joint Business Council between the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce of Qatar, on the establishment of the Business Cooperation Council between the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and the Association of Qatari businessmen, on cooperation between Belarusian State University and the Qatar University, the Memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the National Olympic Committees of Belarus and Qatar, the Memorandum of cooperation between BelTA and Qatar news Agency, the Memorandum on cooperation between the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus and the Central Bank of Qatar, and a number of other interdepartmental documents were signed.

The sides also signed the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of sports between the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the State of Qatar and the Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation between “Beleximgarant” and the Qatar development Bank.
