Belarus-Qatari trade, economic and investment relations

The Republic of Belarus and the State of Qatar develop their trade and economic relations. 

The project on the bulding of the Marriott hotel and sports complex in Minsk has been completed by Qatar.

In March 2010, in Doha, the first meeting of the Belarusian-Qatari Joint Business Council occurred under the aegis of the Chambers of Commerce of Belarus and Qatar.

In November 2012 the second meeting of the Belarusian-Qatari Joint Committee took place in Minsk. The Belarusian part was headed by H.E. the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Belarus (at that time – Valentin Chekanov). The Qatari delegation was led by H.E. Deputy Minister of Business and Trade Sultan bin Rashid Al Khater.

In November 2012 Minsk hosted the second session of the Belarusian-Qatari Joint Committee.

On April 25 — 26, 2016 in Doha, the third meeting of the Belarusian-Qatari Joint Committee was held at the level of H.E. the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Koltovich and H.E. the Minister of Economy and Trade of Qatar Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani. Simultaneously, the second meeting of the Joint Business Council was held under the aegis of the CCI of Qatar.

In March, 2023 nine Belarusian food producers took part in the “AgriteQ” exhibition in Doha.

The sides are currently working on organizing other bilateral trade and economic activities.
