In 2019 Belarusian exports to Qatar were mainly rentgen equipment, milk whey, flour, fish and seafood. Also measuring instruments, clothes, potash fertilizers were supplied (total 33 trade groups).
In 2020, products worth 498.5 thousand USD were exported to Qatar. The main positions — whey, condensed milk and cream and dried milk — 154.6 thousand, other food products — 136.7 thousand, X-ray equipment — 108.4 thousand, medicines — 41.0 thousand, potash fertilizers — 26.1 thousand (more than 30 trade groups items).
Over the past years, more than 95% of Belarusian imports from Qatar are the supply of ethylene polymers.
In 2012, according the Presidential Decree “On the conditions for the construction of a multifunctional complex in Minsk”, the project on the creation of the Marriott hotel and sports complex at Pobediteley Avenue has been completed (the total amount of Qatari investments – about 200 million dollars). Presentation of multifunctional complex “Sokol” with the participation of H.E. the Deputy State Minister of Defense of Qatar on financial issues Tani Abdulrahman Al Kuwari was held on December 7, 2015.
In March 2010, in Doha, the first meeting of the Belarusian-Qatari Joint Business Council occurred under the aegis of the Chambers of Commerce of Belarus and Qatar.
In November 2012 the second meeting of the Belarusian-Qatari Joint Committee took place in Minsk. The Belarusian part was headed by H.E. the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Belarus (at that time – Valentin Chekanov). The Qatari delegation was led by H.E. Deputy Minister of Business and Trade Sultan bin Rashid Al Khater.
In November 2012 Minsk hosted the second session of the Belarusian-Qatari Joint Committee.
On April 25 — 26, 2016 in Doha, the third meeting of the Belarusian-Qatari Joint Committee was held at the level of H.E. the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Koltovich and H.E. the Minister of Economy and Trade of Qatar Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani. Simultaneously, the second meeting of the Joint Business Council was held under the aegis of the CCI of Qatar.
In March, 2023 nine Belarusian food producers took part in the “AgriteQ” exhibition in Doha.
The sides are currently working on organizing other bilateral trade and economic activities.
